Behaves as the superclass method. However, if the constraint is_current_patt_num is True, mark the exposure type as background.

Parameters:

  • item (member) – The item to pull exposure type from.

  • default (str) – The default value if no exposure type is present, defaults to “science”.

Returns:

The exposure type of the item.
